Completed in 1997, Palace Court is comprised of a single, well-built 32-story residence with spacious and modern apartments. Potential tenants may choose from one of their unfurnished spaces or go with any one of their individually styled apartments. On the upper floors, the views of the city are stunning. Tenants also have access to an underground parking facility, a pool, and more.
Since Palace Court is less ‘compound’ and more ‘building’, they lack the full comprehensive range of facilities and amenities that competitors have on offer. But that isn’t to say that residents are losing out in any way. Other compounds are proud – and rightly so – of their high greenery rates and onsite parks. Those looking for a truly cosmopolitan experience need look no further than Xuhui; the district is, after all, known as the birthplace of ‘haipai’ (East meets West) culture. Over the centuries, parts of it have existed as a Catholic stronghold, an area of scientific and mathematical exchange, and as part of the French Concession.
Today, the immediate area surrounding Palace Court is packed with international restaurants, bars, clothing brands, and entertainment options. The nearby junction of Donghu Road and Fumin Road has several bars and restaurants. IAPM Mall, which is close to the metro station on Middle Huaihai Road (a major commercial street), has a two-story official Apple Store, a City Super (an international supermarket), etc. Also nearby is the Kung Fu Komedy Club, which does shows in English, the historic Cathay theatre, and the expat-run Craft’d Shanghai.
The South Shaanxi metro station (Lines 1/10/12) is just 5 minutes away by foot, and the Changshu metro station (Lines 1/7) is 10 minutes away. Drivers are within easy access of the Yan’an Elevated Road (an expressway). Pudong Airport is about 1 hour away by car, and the Hongqiao Airport is about 40 minutes away by car or just 35 minutes by metro. Barring rush hour, Jing’an, People’s Square, Xintiandi, Xujiahui, Zongshan Park, and The Bund are all 20 minutes or less by car. Several key places are easily reachable by foot, bike, or public transport; Jing’an and Xintiandi, for example, are only 10 minutes away by bike.

The Summit is a prime example of a housing compound has been successful in creating a design and layout that appeals to nearly everyone. There’s a restaurant and bar (with a happy hour!) by the door, a playground in the center, and a peaceful walkway that wraps around the outer edge.

Xuhui District is a cosmopolitan, core urban district that covers an area of 54.76 km2 (21.14 sq mi). transportation, and numerous shopping centers.
The Summit is closest to Changshu Road metro station (Lines 1/7), which can be reached in about 5 minutes by foot. However, both the Jing’an Temple metro station (Lines 2/7) and the Shanghai Library metro station (Line 10) can be reached in about 15 minutes. For drivers, the nearby Yan’an Elevated Road (an expressway) is highly convenient.
Anfu Road and Changle Road, which have a range of international restaurants and cafes, are located near the housing compound, but other popular areas in Shanghai are also within easy reach. The Changshu Road metro station itself borders Middle Huaihai Road, a major commercial street. Barring rush hour, Xujiahui, Zhongshan Park, The Bund, Lujiazui, and Xintiandi can all be reached in about 20-25 minutes by car. Some places, including Zhongshan Park, Xintiandi, and Jing’an Temple, are only a short bike ride away.
